Case Studies
ACE Gutters had a total of 212 x 400 watt(165) and 250 watt(47) mercury vapour high bay lights throughout their manufacturing, coil storage and gutter sales facilities in Sydney.
By replacing the mercury vapour fittings with a combination of 100/120/150 watt LED high bays with 45 degree reflectors mounted at 7 metres. They have been able to achieve power savings as follows.
Average kW/h per year mercury vapour: 300,000 ($53,865)
Average kW/h per year LED: 76,000 ($13,608)
Average kW/h per year saving: 224,000
Saving @ 18 cents/kW/h P.A: $40,257
Savings over 5 years @ 18 cents/kW/h: $203,202
Savings over 10 years @ 18 cents/kW/h: $406,404

A further 98 x 400 watt metal halide light fittings will be replaced in due course. This will achieve further savings of approximately $20,000 P.A.
ACE Gutters will reduce their Carbon Dioxide emissions by 237-350 tonnes per year, through the implementation of more energy efficient LED lighting. This will result in a reduction of their carbon footprint. They have plans to be an even greener corporate citizen by implementing energy management strategies in their Melbourne facility.
